Train Rides – Standard Schedule
Trains will depart Sanders station on the hour from 11 AM through 3 PM. You are free to depart on one train and return on a later train should you wish to make use of our picnic grove or simply spend more time exploring the roundhouse and other nearby buildings preserved from the original railroad. The last return train departs the roundhouse area at approximately 3:45 PM.
Our train makes two stops. The first stop is at the southern terminus of our line where the picnic grove is located. There is easy access to the Sandy River at this stop if you wish to take a walk or cool off in the water. A number of historic artifacts are on display here as well including a locomotive bell that kids of all ages are welcome to ring. The second stop is our roundhose complex where the the remainder of our rolling stock is located, some of that dating back to the 1890s. At this stop there is an opportunity to take a ride on an original hand car that was used on the railroad up until its closure.
